Chinese Kung Fu

Chinese Kung Fu

Chinese kung fu, also known as Wushu is one of the most important traditional martial arts in the Chinese culture, which originated from ancient China. Kung fu was based on classical Chinese philosophy and has developed a unique combination of exercise, practical self-defense, self-discipline and art. Chinese Kung Fu is usually practiced with bare hands with its fluid and dynamic motions and sometimes with simple weapons. However, it is mostly known as self-defense and attack during a course of fighting. Chinese Kung Fu originated from hunting skills in ancient times. These hunting skills were splitting, chopping, and stabbing, which became the foundations of Kungfu. There are two different types of Kung Fu: internal and external. Internal kungfu is where you train your spirit, qi and mind, while external kungfu is exercising your tendons, bones and skin. Usually internal kungfu extends a person life expectancy, but weakens their external body. There are many different styles of Kungfu such as Taijiquan and Qigong. Taijiquan was developed by a Taoist internal martial artist to help others to control their spirit, qi and mind. As for Qigong, it based on the search for longevity, with the ultimate aim of immortality.
